This program provides guidance for people who wish to help protect and restore local waterways in British Columbia.
Objectives of the Streamkeepers Program:
- to provide volunteers with the training and support required to protect and restore local aquatic habitats
- to educate the public about the importance of watershed resources
- to encourage communication and cooperation in watershed management
The two-day course will include:
- Module 1: Introductory Stream Habitat Survey
- Module 2: Advanced Stream Habitat Survey
- Module 3: Water Quality Survey
- Module 4: Stream Invertebrate Survey
- Module 7: Streamside Planting
- Module 11: Juvenile Fish Trapping and Identification
