Streamside Protection

The Streamside Protection Regulations, enacted as part of the BC Fish Protection Act, are now under review by BC's new Provincial Government. The Stewardship Action Network (SAN) was asked to give a presentation to the Streamside Protection Implementation Workshop at the Delta Airport Hotel, Richmond, BC., October 10, 2001. On March 30 2000, Zo Ann Morten was asked to speak to the iciEMA (Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Environmental Managers Association) monthly meeting, to give a community volunteer's perspective on streamside protection. She began with an overview of the Streamkeepers program, then highlighted some obvious examples of the poor state of streamside protection today.
