Capilano College Course:

Jennifer SutherstThis 20 hour fun and interactive Streamkeepers course covers modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 11. Participants will learn about stream microhabitats and how to determine what is healthy stream habitat, They will also be exposed to problems that can occur with stream habitat. The course includes a multi-media presentation but the main focus is "hands-on" training on a local creek. Participants will need to bring hipwaders or rubber boots.

The course cost is $150.00 plus $20.00 for the Streamkeepers Handbook and Modules.<

PSkF Course:

This "hands-on" Streamkeepers course is based out of Victoria, BC, and covers modules 1, 2, 3, 4 with a demonstration of modules 7 and 11. The course takes 2 1/2 days to complete and participants will receive a PSkF certificate when they finish. Bring your hipwaders or rubber boots and prepare to be immersed in your local stream habitat!

The course cost is $50.00 plus $20.00 for the Streamkeepers Handbook and Modules.

Jennifer Sutherst has a BSc in biology and Environmental Studies, and is a Stewardship Coordinator for Fisheries and Oceans Canada. She has worked in the South Vancouver Island region for the past 9 years on various salmonid education and awareness programs. Her interactive "hands-on" approach to the training ensures that all the participants will "get their feet wet!"
