Spanish Bank Stream is enjoying the first significant return of Chum Salmon in Eighty years! Attached pictures are still frames from Video recorded Oct 19th. More fish have entered the creek since then and we anticipate more on each high tide for the next few days.

Notes from Maurice LeGallais:

The attached pictures are single frames from video recorded about a month ago. New Arrivals were fish too big to go through the culvert and may be 10 to 20 pounds! The small fish going up stream (5 to 10 pounds) and the larger beast nearly home are a pair recorded the next day. We watched them for several days as they dug two or three redds while spawning. Ron counted 65 returning Chum salmon and did an autopsy on each one!

Dick saw the first Coho yesterday but today I could see no sign of it. The fish may be way up stream by now. The attached pictures are single frames from video recorded about a month ago.
