Large Woody Debris
Large woody debris, such as root wads, increases the amount of submerged and overhead cover for juvenile and adult fish. It occurs naturally in streams, as trees die and fall into the stream, or floods wash away earth around the base of trees. Root wads can also be introduced in areas that need more cover.
